Beautiful hotel located in downtown Ithaca minutes to Cornell University has immediate opening for a Rooms Division Manager.
We are looking for a Rooms Division Manager to join our team and provide excellent customer service to our hotel guests. The Rooms Division Manager responsibilities include directing the rooms and laundry department to ensure clean, orderly conditions of the property. You will address clients’ queries and make sure our rooms are fully stocked, clean and inviting at all times. If you’re interested in kickstarting your career in the hotel industry, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for our guests during their stay with us.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the housekeeping and laundry areas, operate within department guidelines and effective cost controls and efficient staff management.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors and common areas daily to ensure adherence to established cleanliness standards.
- Prepare schedule based on occupancy reports and business demands.
- Communicate daily with the front office to ensure guest requests are met.
- Allocate all room master keys and be responsible for their return.
- Interviewing potential candidates for housekeeping and laundry.
- Payroll of all associates for housekeeping and laundry.
- Address guests’ queries (e.g. on additional services)
- Complete monthly linen and stock inventory.
Skills
- Work experience as a Room Attendant.
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Good physical health and stamina
- Flexibility to work in shifts
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to follow instructions
