Tompkins Chamber is proud to bring you a L.E.A.R.N. workshop:
Financial Planning for Growing Families
Presented by Casey Williamson of Williamson Financial Services, Northwestern Mutual
This session will go over relevant financial planning considerations for new or expecting parents. As complexity increases with additions to the family, having a game plan becomes even more important. We will have open discussion and educate around the topics we hear our clients bring up most commonly:
How can I get the most out of my dollars or budget? Are insurance or risk management plans now relevant? What can I do today that my future self will look back on favorably?
This educational discussion will hopefully stir further conversations that will help set you up for success in this new stage of life. There will be ample time for questions and specifics as everyone’s situation is unique!
Schedule:
This session will be 60 minutes total with 15 minutes saved towards the end for questions.
Presented by:
Casey Williamson, Financial Advisor, Williamson Financial Services
An Ithaca townie, Casey graduated from Ithaca College with his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and his Master’s in Sport Psychology. He worked in the sports medicine world in physical therapy clinics, with Cornell athletics teams like Men’s Lacrosse and Basketball, and with VCU Men’s Soccer and Women’s Tennis in Richmond, Virginia. Around COVID, with extra time with collegiate sports being cancelled, he found himself in lots of conversations with professors, athletes, coaches, mentors, and medical professionals around finances and retirement planning. Information that wasn’t taught in school but that he had learned through his father Jay, a Financial Planner in Ithaca for the last 40 years.
This experience led to a switch, and he started his Financial Advisory business in Charlotte, NC. He became one of the top new representatives with Northwestern Mutual during his time in Charlotte, hitting all new client metrics. In 2023, he moved his business from Charlotte to Ithaca, NY where he joined his father Jay’s practice after a 6-month trial period of living between both cities. He is completing his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) credentialing in 2027, the gold standard in the industry, to best serve his community.
Casey loves his Ithaca community and stays active. He is currently a member of Rotary Club of Ithaca, Board Member and on the Finance Committee at the Tompkins Chamber of Commerce, and is a speaker through Project InVest, a program that provides financial education to local schools. He is excited to share his philosophy that it isn’t necessarily infinite resources, but being resourceful and strategic, that can help jumpstart someone’s financial future.
Williamson Financial Services was founded by Casey’s father, Jay Williamson, in 1986. For the last 40 years Williamson Financial Services has been serving clients in the Tompkins County area and beyond, providing trusted financial guidance at every stage of life. Three years ago, Casey joined his father’s practice after beginning his own practice in Charlotte NC. Together, they work with a team of 5 support staff to create financial plans for their clients that allow them to move forward with confidence and clarity.
