SUMMARY:L.E.A.R.N: COVID-19 Business Reopen and Recovery: Shared Work Support
DESCRIPTION:Tompkins County\, along with 9 other regions\, are starting the 4 phases presented by Governor Andrew Cuomo to UnPause NY State. Over the next few months\, organizations throughout the State will face differing schedules and parameters for resuming business operations. With strong commitments to community partnership and public impact\, the Tompkins Chamber of Commerce is continuing it's L.E.A.R.N webinar series and shifting our focus to COVID-19 Business Reopen and Recovery. \n\n\n\nThe next webinar in our series will focus on providing information for employers and employees on Shared Work Support. Mary McLaughlin\, Workforce Development Specialist with Tompkins Workforce New York\, will provide an overview of the Shared Work Program and provide participants the opportunity to ask questions along the way. In addition\, TWNY are providing a Survey Monkey link for all affected staff who may wish to submit questions after the workshop\, as they navigate the Shared Work application process and/or have other questions moving forward.\nOutline:\n\n\n	Shared Work - How to apply   Mary will share screenshots of the online Shared Work application process and discuss what documents and information affected employees will need to know to apply. She will also emphasize tips that will help the process to go more smoothly\n	Shared Work Help (FAQs and Tips)   Mary will review NYS DOL's current FAQs\, as well as tips our staff have put together that will make the process easier to navigate and complete successfully. In addition\, she will cover information about the current length of Shared Work benefits\, accessing the additional $600/wk (PUC)\, and how other work impacts Shared Work benefits.\n	Moving Forward - Mary will discuss current services available through TWNFY including virtual workshops\, highlight online training resources\, and demonstrate the use of the Tompkins ReDirect and NYS DOL job search sites for essential employment opportunities for those who would like to pursue other employment.\n\n\nThe format of the webinar will be a 45 minute presentation of information followed by a 15 minute Q&A.
